Kathy Ashworth Civic Engagement Award Announced

The College of Liberal Arts is proud to announce the launch of a new internship program made possible through a generous donation by Ms. Kathy Ashworth. The purpose of the internship is to educate students about the importance of service and community engagement while also contributing to the betterment of the Acadiana area. The selected students will take a course in the Fall focusing on leadership, community outreach, and collaboration to approach local problems. In the spring semester, students will be assigned to an organization within the Acadiana area and complete one hundred hours of service work.

We want to congratulate the inaugural cohort of internship recipients:

• Denaecia Lewis – Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Human Development & Family Science
• Grace Randall – Department of Criminal Justice
• Alaysha Veal – Department of Criminal Justice
