Research & Publication Opportunities
Our students have many resources for doing original research and even publishing their findings! The College’s Center for Louisiana Studies houses the University of Louisiana Press, which publishes books on the history, culture, food and music of Louisiana. Students doing historical research use the Center’s extensive archival collections, and the history department publishes an annual printed journal of select student papers.
The English department publishes two nationally recognized journals, and the Modern Languages department publishes an international journal devoted to Francophone studies. The College’s Humanities Resource Center gathers and makes available resources for humanities research projects. Many English students and alumni have published their creative writing. Students in psychology regularly participate in faculty-led research projects, and even present research and publish with faculty. Students in broadcasting create their own award-winning radio broadcasts aired on the local public radio station.
Our faculty encourage students to engage in real research and share their knowledge early in their careers!
