| CAREER OPPORTUNITIES | |||||||||||||||||||
The American Sociological Association has identified job titles of the majority of persons having a bachelor’s degree in sociology: 34 percent are in such professions as social work, counseling, marketing research and nursing; more than 20 percent are in management or administrative positions; 7.5 percent are in criminal justice; approximately 4 percent are in community service, and 1 percent are in personnel management. The department has a computer laboratory that is used by students and those working on independent study courses with faculty. Such activity improves the career opportunities of majors. |
