DOMENGEAUX SCHOLARSHIP

The scholarship was created by the CODOFIL Foundation in 1998 during CODOFIL’s 30th anniversary celebration and was named in honor of CODOFIL’s founder, James Domengeaux. As the CODOFIL Foundation continues its fundraising efforts to support CODOFIL and its programs, one of its goals is to provide additional year-long scholarship, to Belgium and other francophone countries.

The Bourse Domengeaux offers an academic year scholarship for study in Belgium to a French or French Education major who is currently enrolled in a Louisiana university and who will have junior or senior status at the beginning of the Fall semester. Tuition is offered by the Community Wallonie-Bruxelles. Monthly stipend to cover room, board, books and expenses. Flight covered. Scholarship is awarded in the Spring.

THE CLARA FUSELIER COOPER MEMORIAL ENDOWMENT SCHOLARSHIP

Recipient must be currently enrolled at UL Lafayette, majoring in French or Francophone Studies. Must be eligible to enter in the junior or senior year and have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Students must submit a written statement indicating his/her plans for the future and involvement in extracurricular activities, especially those of a professional and community nature. Scholarship pays $900 annually for two semesters; $450 Fall and $450 Spring. Deadline to apply is early September.

ALIDA PORET MEMORIAL ENDOWMENT SCHOLARSHIP

Must be a U.S. citizen and a Louisiana resident and graduate of accredited Louisiana High School. be entering UL Lafayette as a first-time freshman majoring in either French or French Education. Outstanding high school record in academics and extracurricular activities. Must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA in high school. Preference will be given to applicants of French extraction. Scholarship pays $2,200 annually; $1,100 Fall and $1,100 Spring at the beginning of every semester for eight consecutive semesters. Requires a cumulative GPA of 3.0 every semester to retain scholarship.

Must be a U. S. citizen and a Louisiana resident and graduate of accredited Louisiana High School; must be entering his/her junior or senior year at UL Lafayette and majoring in either French or French Education. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA with a 3.5 average in French. Preference will be given to applicants of French extraction. Scholarship pays $2,400 annually; $1,200 Fall and $1,200 Spring. Requires a 3.0 cumulative GPA for Fall semester of scholarship year to retain scholarship.

LT. PATRICK MARAIST MEMORIAL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP

Must be a U.S. citizen and a Louisiana native; eligible to enter his/her sophomore, junior or senior; have a 3.0 cumulative GPA; majoring in French/Francophone Studies or Secondary Education specializing in French. Preference will be given to students who are not receiving other scholarships. Scholarship pays $650 annually; $325 Fall and $325 Spring. Requires a 3.0 cumulative GPA and complete the semester as a full-time student to retain scholarship.

LUCILE MEREDITH MOUTON FRENCH ENDOWMENT SCHOLARSHIP

Must be a first-time freshman majoring in French; have two years of high school French and a 3.0 high school GPA with a 24 or higher on the ACT composite.

Selection of the recipient is in conjunction with the UL Lafayette Scholarship Testing Program. Scholarship pays $750 for the freshman year; $375 Fall and $375 Spring. Requires a 2.8 GPA overall and a 3.0 GPA in French during the Fall semester of the scholarship year to retain scholarship.

Must be a U. S. citizen; eligible to enter his/her freshman, sophomore, junior or senior year; have a 3.0 GPA; majoring in French (may also be minoring in French); completed at least six hours of French at or above the 300 level. May be awarded to student applying for study in Francophone country. Scholarship pays $250 annually over one semester.
